LANTERN | CLAY | H 30 CM
The RAKU series is a collection of hand-thrown earthenware inspired by traditional Filipino firing techniques, where clay is transformed through fire and organic materials. During the firing process, the surface is naturally carbonized, creating deep, earthy tones that vary from dark brown to black and greyish shades depending on the placement and heat in the kiln.
The series combines a rustic material expression with simple and elegant shapes. Small variations in colour, surface and form are a natural part of the craftsmanship and make each piece unique.
The RAKU lantern has a rounded, sculptural shape with hand-cut openings that allow the light to shine through the clay. Use the lantern on a table, in a windowsill or as an cosy detail on a stand.
