Christmas at Tine's
At Tine’s home, Christmas settles in quietly among the things that are already part of everyday life. Christmas greenery branches along the staircase, soft bows, candlelight and small decorations are added little by little. Rather than transforming the home for a month, it is about creating the sense of warmth and calm that makes the season feel special.
Natural materials are an important part of the expression. Green branches are kept simple and slightly imperfect, while ribbons in different widths and shades, woven baskets, glass and dark wood add warmth and texture. Older furniture and treasured pieces with a history sit alongside newer designs, creating a personal and lived-in atmosphere.
“For me, Christmas is about slowing down a little. I find that easiest when the things I surround myself with create a sense of calm and warmth at home. I like returning to the same simple elements year after year. Green branches, ribbons, candlelight and pieces with a history come back each season, taking on a slightly different expression depending on where they find their place.”
-Tine
Candlelight is an essential part of Christmas at Tine’s. On the walls, around the table and in the Advent wreath, small points of light bring warmth to the darker days of December. Familiar traditions return too. Lighting the calendar candle, baking something sweet in the kitchen and bringing out special glasses from the cupboard all become part of the season.
Perhaps this is where the feeling of Christmas truly begins: in the small rituals, familiar details and time spent together.
The table naturally becomes a gathering place. Textiles, glassware, flowers, candles and favourite everyday pieces are combined without everything needing to match. Christmas at Tine’s is personal, calm and full of warmth, with room for traditions, good food and long moments around the table.
