ABOUT TINE K HOME

Tine K Home was founded in 1999 by Tine Kjeldsen and her husband, Jacob Fossum. At that time, Tine managed her own little store in Charlottenlund, Denmark. Tine loved to travel the world to find new, fascinating items for her store. Even though she visited many countries, her inspiration kept her coming back to Northern Africa, South Europe, and Asia.

But it came to a point where Tine had a hard time finding items she wanted to sell at her store. It was here that she and her husband, Jacob, chose to try to do it themselves.

This was the kick-off to Tine K Home. Through the years, the company has grown and today the items are sold worldwide through retailers and the webshop. The range is based on furniture and home decor and can be found in private homes as well as in boutique hotels around the world.

Tine K Home's main office and warehouse are located in Odense, Denmark, while the flagship store can be found in Copenhagen.

With respect for history, culture, and traditional handcraft, Tine creates a series of clean and elegant styles, which together result in timeless collections where colours and materials are in focus. Her passion for dusty colours and raw materials shines through in both the furniture collections as well as the home decor series: ”It is the contrast between the light and dark colours that creates style and atmosphere. The darker tones you often get from old objects, furniture and rugs from the far East. I love hand crafted interior which are rich in history and soul”

THOUGHTFUL IMPACT

Our approach to sustainability starts with the design process

We believe the journey towards a greener impact starts with the design process of our beloved items. We strive to create timeless pieces that are not dependent on today's trends but instead remain relevant for years to come, following you on your journey through time and your interior design.

When we launch a new collection, our goal is not to invent a new trend. We believe in developing existing designs, ensuring a cohesive harmony among our collections. This avoids the necessity for a complete interior overhaul, when investing in new item from Tine K Home. Instead, a few new items can be selected to achieve a refreshed ambiance.

Artisan workshops (suppliers)

Building lasting partnerships with our suppliers is at the heart of Tine K Home's identity. Many of the partnerships between our suppliers and us date back years, and we cherish our relationship.

We tend to work with local artisan workshops to minimise transport and optimise quality with handmade, traditional craftsmanship. This also means we tend not to use large factories to mass produce our products.

We give high priority to sea shipments from our suppliers to minimise our climate footprint in transportation. As part of this effort, we strive to ship larger furniture unassembled to optimise space on each shipment. This is an ongoing process, and we continually seek to get even better at these practices.

Renewed resources

Our objective is to utilize materials that have already fulfilled a previous purpose in the creation of new items. This is reflected in several of our series, incorporating recycled materials like recycled aluminium in our Dune series, reclaimed FSC-certified teak from aged wooden structures in our Teak series, and upcycled FSC-certified European oak in our Koru series.

When it is not possible to incorporate recycled materials in production, we strive to use certified and unprocessed materials that can serve as feedstock for future products.

We tend to not limit our reuse to materials within our items. At Tine K Home, we adopt a sustainable approach by repurposing packaging materials when shipping our products to you. This not only minimises waste but also conserves valuable resources.

Tine K Home is an exclusive universe. Known for our natural and handmade products as well as unique finds that express history, culture, and traditional craftsmanship. A universe that represents designs where the materials are naturally sourced - Europe, Asia, and Africa - handcrafted by master craftsmen who pass their skills from one generation to the next, a blend of elegant simplicity that appeals to your senses. Find inspiration, whether it's for hotels, restaurants, beach bars or private spaces.
