Bamboo care

At Tine K Home we are particularly exited about our bamboo collection as bamboo has been a core part of our company from the very beginning. We love bamboo so much, that even after many years of designing bamboo furniture, we barely feel like we have started, and are certain that we have only scratched the surface of the possibilities. 

We have found bamboo in Vietnam on one of our first trips and immediately felt in love. Over time we have developed the collection and our collection now ranges from small stools to large sunbeds, to tables, couches, tables and everything in between.

Our bamboo collection is hand-crafted in family owned workshops located in the Saigon region. We have worked with the families for many years and we cherish our relationship. 

 

Bamboo is sustainably produced and grown. As it is the fastest-growing plant in the world bamboo is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint and help fight global warming. In that way, bamboo is a great alternative to the slower-growing and resource-demanding hardwood. Additionally, bamboo does not require any type of pesticides, fertilizers or herbicides to grow and reproduce effectively. 

In short, bamboo has amazing natural abilities to multiply. It can survive and reproduce without problems. The bamboo poles we use in production need 60 days to 4 years to grow fully.

Bamboo is a natural material, and like any other, it requires care to maintain its beauty and ensure it lasts for many years. Bamboo furniture is designed for summer use, and you can greatly extend its lifespan by following these tips:

1. Protect from overnight dew: Use covers to shield the bamboo from moisture at night. Always remove cushions when the furniture is not in use to prevent mould.
2. Protect from sun and drying: Intense sunlight can dry out and fade bamboo. Use covers or place the furniture in the shade when not in use to preserve its colour and strength.
3. Clean up spills immediately: Wipe away marks promptly to reduce the risk of staining, using a mild cleaning solution.
4. Store properly after the season: At the end of summer, store bamboo furniture in a dry, well-ventilated space. It is not suitable for year-round outdoor use.
5. Maintain with care products: Clean and treat the furniture with BAMCAREKIT at least twice a year – once at the start of the season and again at the end.

We have taken the best care of your bamboo in advance. It has been produced as natural and as gentle as possible. 

1. Use covers to protect the bamboo from nightly dew and sun during the season
2. Do not leave your cushions underneath the cover for an extended period of time or during long heavy rain periods. 
3. Please store your bamboo furniture in a dry and ventilated spot for the winter season.
